I initiated and currently lead a student-initiated film project as its director, bringing together peers from multiple JC and secondary schools, including St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI), School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA) and ACJC. What began as a shared interest in acting and filmmaking grew into a purposeful collaboration where we combined our different strengths in storytelling, production, music and the arts.
Many underprivileged children do not experience the same warmth, celebration, and opportunities that we often take for granted. This shaped the direction of our project—we decided to create a film not just as a creative pursuit, but as a platform to raise awareness and make a tangible difference.
As director, I oversee the overall creative vision, coordinate the team, and manage the production process. We are producing this film in support of Children’s Wishing Well (CWW), a registered charity that supports over 1,000 children and youth from low-income families annually through free educational programmes, mentorship, and financial assistance.
We will be filming in June and aim to complete the project by the end of the year 2026. The final film will be publicly screened, with tickets sold as part of our fundraising efforts. All proceeds will go directly to CWW, allowing our project to translate creative passion into meaningful social impact.
