Youth-led initiative dedicated to preserving the life stories of Singaporeans through legacy videos.

When listening becomes a legacy.

As the film director of Keepsakes, I lead the visual storytelling of a student-initiated project dedicated to preserving the voices and memories of the older generation. Through filming and documenting conversations, I work closely with my team to capture authentic, heartfelt stories that might otherwise be forgotten over time.

Our purpose is simple but meaningful: to bridge the gap between generations. By spending time with elderly individuals, especially those living alone, we create moments of connection, joy, and companionship. These interactions are not just about recording stories, but about truly listening, engaging, and making them feel seen and valued.

Through my role, I use film as a medium to transform these personal experiences into lasting narratives that younger generations can learn from and appreciate. Every conversation becomes a story worth keeping — one that carries wisdom, history, and humanity. Ultimately, this project is about preserving legacies while creating meaningful impact in the present.
